Caregiver Support Programs

In addition to Savvy Caregiver Training, our Caregiver Coaches are often presenting caregiver training and support programs throughout North Central Florida.  These programs are free to any interested dementia caregiver.  They are on a variety of different subjects related to dementia caregiving!  Find one that interests you!  Call the Caregiver Coach listed with any questions you may have.

 

 

 

 

11/09/2017         Arts and Dementia Care, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon @ Master The Possibilities Campus at Top of The World, Ocala, Florida. Join us to lean from a wide variety of art disciplines.  Participants will be introduced to a variety of examples:  the visual arts (painting & going to museums), spoken word arts (Poetry & Storytelling), dramatic Arts (Improvisational Theater), Music and more!  You will learn specific ways you can use these in activities in the home.  Prior to the presentation you will have the opportunity for a reception and exhibit in Studios 9 and 10 showcasing wonderful art created by persons with dementia.  Free.  You must pre-register for this event. Contact Tom Rinkoski at (352) 692-5226 or via internet at rinkoskit@agingresources.org.

11/16/2017         What Can I Do Now?  Building Meaningful Activities for Persons With Dementia;  9:30 am – 2:30 pm @ Trinity United Methodist Church (Youth Ministry Building) in Gainesville, Florida.  This event is designed for caregivers of dementia.  It will be a hands on event in which caregivers will have the opportunity to learn at 5 different workstations how to create activities for persons with dementia that can be adjusted as their cognitive levels change.  FREE, but you must pre-register!  Contact Tom Rinkoski at (352) 692-5226 or via internet at rinkoskit@agingresources.org.

12/12/2017         Holiday Times and Dementia.  1:00 – 3:00 pm; @ Elan Spanish Springs in The Villages, FL.  This workshop will offer caregivers insights and tips on how to assist persons with dementia with busy and hectic holiday celebrations.  We will cover a wide variety of related subjects: loss of holiday expectations, adjusting rituals for diminishing abilities, finding appropriate gifts, tips on successful holiday visits and travel and much more.  Contact Tom Rinkoski at (352) 692-5226 or via internet at rinkoskit@agingresources.org.
