For county openings, applicants must be a resident of the county. For At-Large openings (if any), applicants must be a resident of one of the counties in Elder Options’ service area: Alachua,  Bradford, Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Marion, Putnam, Sumter, Suwannee, & Union.

*Restrictions – Potential Board of Director Applicants:

To avoid the perception of a conflict of interest, Florida’s Department of Elder Affairs provides the following restrictions for membership on Elder Options’ Board of Directors:

“No Area Agency on Aging (Elder Options) may make a sub-grant or subcontract with any service provider, if a member of the AAA’s board is also a member of the provider’s staff, board of directors or advisory council.”

If you’re a staff member or serve on the Board or Advisory Council of any of the agencies below, you would have to resign prior to being appointed to Elder Options’ Board.
